位置の注記

The fossil was found near an artificial cliff constructed at the boundary between the African Zone on the north side and the American Zone on the south side of Gunma Safari Park. This cliff is an artificial outcrop created by repurposing geological strata exposed from beneath the soil during the park's landscaping work. According to Shigehisa Kawakami, the director of the park, the fossil was not directly found at this outcrop, but rather was found lying beneath the outcrop, separated from the fossil itself. However, since herbivores are kept free-roaming in these zones and the general public is not allowed to enter except for the animal care staff, it is considered highly unlikely that fossils were brought in from outside.
