PBDB の記載「露頭ひとつ」による - 位置の注記
- There is currently no place name within the Chichibu region that exactly matches the name inscribed on the specimen's label. However, a relatively similar place name exists - Kanasaki in Minano-machi, Chichibu-gun, Saitama Prefecture - suggesting the possibility that Shosaku collected the specimen in that vicinity. Approximately 2.1 km southwest of Kanasaki - upstream along the Arakawa River in the vicinity of Obuchi - strata corresponding to the lower section of the Akabira Group (a Neogene formation constituting the Chichibu Basin) are exposed. From a geological perspective, this suggests that these strata are the most probable source layer from which this fossil specimen originated.
